Nothing Worth Winning Ever Came Easy

Invasion of Long Island

Today the Pens will play the first game of back to back games when they face the New York Islanders in an afternoon game on Long Island. The Pens are coming off a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night. The last time these two teams met in the second game of the season, the Pens won 4-3 in what was a come from behind shootout victory.

The Islanders have been somewhat of a surprise team so far by posting a 9-9-7 record thus far. They have got significant contributions from players like number one overall pick John Tavares and Matt Moulson. They have also got stellar goaltending out of Dwayne Roloson.

The Pens are looking to extend their win streak to four games with a win this afternoon.

Scratches for the game look to be the same as they have been. GoGO, Letang, McKee, Kunitz, and Kennedy. Their replacements will still be the same. Skoula, Lovejoy, Engelland, and Bourque.

Brent Johnson is expected to get the start in goal since the Pens will be playing back to back games today and tomorrow night.

GO PENS!!!
